ABSTRACT:

 Cross border Infiltration has become a significant threat to all the nations, and everyone are trying to secure their land from neighboring nations. In India infiltration has caused devastating effects since many illegal immigrants have settled in India and they are provided with all national facilities such as voting power etc. This has become some serious issue since the total population is increasing linearly year by year. Even terrorists and smugglers peep into country through cross borders. They enter into the country and cause hijacking of planes, human trafficking, smuggling of illegal goods and other terrorist activities. These refugee infiltration, terrorist infiltration and illegal smuggling through cross border can be stopped by detecting the infiltrate near the border and punish them for their crime.

 OBJECTIVES:

The aim of this project at the borders will ensure complete security from illegal immigration, cross-border terrorism, smuggling of goods, human trafficking.

INTRODUCTION

First, what is Cross-Border Infiltration? The action of entering or gaining access to an organization or nation surreptitiously through country border fence, especially in order to acquire secret information or cause damage. In simple words– people or animal from under developed country      move   towards developed countries through borders illegally to access their facilities or to access their secret information or to cause serious damage to the country, this is called as Cross-Border Infiltration. Recent survey by the authorities has disclosed that an approximate of 5 lakhs of illegal immigration is taking place every year. Non availability of proper fencing in rural mountainous and border desert region between Arizona and Mexico has resulted in illegal migration and settlement to the tune of 6 to 7 million people.

      In India an estimate of 30 to 40 million of illegal immigrated people are residing without a valid document or proper records. The illegal immigration are mainly from surrounding countries like Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, Myanmar and Sri Lanka.

The study on the population, by the Indian Statistical Institute revealed that an estimate of 1lakh Bangladeshi nationals is crossing over to India every year after the creation of Bangladesh in 1971(from erstwhile East Pakistan).

 

Cross-Border Issues: India is a fastest developing country, because of the illegal immigration the country is facing more security threats mostly in the states having common border with neighboring countries. Due to poor infrastructure, improper fencing and inadequate foreign policy, the border management is not strong enough to curtail the currency of anti-national activities.

There are various cross-border issues viz illegal entry of terrorists, smuggling of high valued goods like RDX, marijuana, gold, arms & ammunitions, human trafficking, forged currency etc which are creating constant headache for the security management of the country. The above mentioned explosives and illegal goods are transported even by animals(such as camels are used for transportation of illegal goods in desert regions) through the borders. Even smuggling of endangered species are done illegally at the national borders.

 

Cross-Border Terrorism: The unity, integrity and sovereignty of India is at stake because of issues mentioned above. The sore intention of the surrounding countries like Bangladesh and Pakistan is to destabilize the economy and communal harmony of our country.

 

As terrorism is increasing the terrorists are finding new ways for infiltration. They are digging a tunnel to enter into the neighboring nations to cause damage. This is also one of the major cross-border issues.

 

In order to prevent above mentioned cross-border issues, a new technology is introduced in this project. This new technology provides 24/7 surveillance throughout the border. This project ensures complete security against cross-border infiltration by sending the information to border patrol and helping them in pin pointing the infiltrate.

 DESIGN & IMPLEMENTATION:.

The fence is also powered with low intensity current so as to keep the animals away from crossing. The two layer fence is laid in parallel to one other throughout the country’s border. The fences are gapped 1 foot between the layers and all the sensing units are placed within the fence. While installation of fence, whole border region will be divided into number of blocks, each block of 50 to 60 feet and all the blocks are numbered serially to identify the region of infiltration. The datasheet of blocks and its locality will be provided to the border patrol control room for their reference. Each of the block is provided with two Arduino Uno one being a primary which controls the sensor units and other Arduino is used for camera interfacing and activation of alarm system.

Whenever there is an illegal entry across the borders the one has to cross through the lasers, where lasers are stacked one above the other in such a way that the infiltrate has zero possibility of not being overlooked. Once the laser is cut by the intruder immediate actions are performed by all the other sensing units. Laser senses even a small variation caused due to dust and dirt, this is distinguished sensor.

sensors are efficient  in detecting the infiltrate even during low light conditions. As sensor has the wide angle of detection, we can adjust its sensitivity so as it to work only when the infiltrate is within the fences and differentiate whether it is any dust particle blown or human is infiltrated.

ADVANTAGES:

·    Border security management to prevent illegal infiltration from our enemy countries.

·    If the infiltrate try to cross the fence illegally, the image and the location of infiltration is sent to the nearest control station for initiating further disciplinary actions against the infiltrate as deemed fit.

 CONCLUSION:

 

In this project, we have come up with new technology of advance border security management to prevent illegal infiltration from our enemy countries. By implementing this project at the borders will ensure complete security from illegal immigration, cross-border terrorism, smuggling of goods, human trafficking etc. If the infiltrate try to cross the fence illegally, the image and the location of infiltration is sent to the nearest control station for initiating further disciplinary actions against the infiltrate as deemed fit. The soldiers taking immediate actions against the intruders ensure the protection of our system.
